Frequently Asked Questions
- How is Logajob different from other directory type websites?
As our slogan implies, we take the work out of your search. With other directory sites you still need to go through the usual steps of contacting them, waiting for a return call, organising a time to meet, waiting for quotes etc. Logajob does all of that for you – you merely type in what it is you want done. The system will link up your project type with the respective project tradesmen qualified to do the work. These tradesmen will be notified via text alert daily, this encourages prompt response times. You are then able to review their response at a time appropriate to you. No more ill timed calls or inconvenient site visits necessary. You are able to compare several initial quotes’ from one platform in an organised manner, eliminating and accepting by the click of your mouse Your tradesperson is aware that others are quoting for the same job, this should encourage them to reveal their most competitive price first time around. A relaxed, organised platform where you’re in control of the process in YOUR time frame.
- What kind of jobs can I post?
Anything DIY or Renovation orientated – home improvements, home adaptations, add ons, gardens, tilers, bathroom specialists, plumbers, electricians, floor sanders etc. The list goes on – view a list of our tradesmen categories right here. From the smallest to the largest project, there will be someone listed on the site willing to help you with your project.
- How do I post my job?
- What happens once the job is posted?
Your request will be listed on the website for anyone to view. In order to get more details on the job, users have to be registered with LogaJob. Those tradespeople registered on Logajob and qualified to carry out work in your category will be emailed immediately and sent a text alert daily . Those who choose to quote on the project will send you notification of their interest to quote. You can list a closing date for quotes and all quotes should be in your ‘inbox’ by date expressed.
- Can I choose to accept a quote BEFORE the closing date of the quotation period?
You’re able to view all quotes as and when they are received however, the ‘accept/reject a quote’ button is only functional once the quotation period has expired. We feel this will be the best method to allow everyone the same opportunity . Once the quotation period has expired, only then can a quote be accepted or not accepted.
- Can the different tradespeople ask me questions before they submit a quote?
Yes. Logajob provides an open forum type platform where questions can be submitted before a tradesman needs to complete a quote. The questions and answers are then available to all those parties interested in submitting quotes thus giving a level playing field and transparency to all information required.
- Will I require a site visit prior to quotes?
This is up to you as you will have the option to do either. If you feel you’ll receive a more accurate quote you can select the site visit button. If you do require a site visit, you can choose which is the best method of contact for you i.e phone or email etc. Only relevant Tradespeople will then have access to your contact details and they will arrange a site visit in person. However, if you feel the job doesn’t warrant a site visit , your details will not be available to the tradesperson and you will simply wait for the quotes to be submitted via the LogaJob website.
- What is a reliability rating?
Both consumers and Tradespeople have a reliability rating. This system hopefully eliminates the time wasters. If you submit a job but don’t follow up on the quotes that you receive, your reliability rating will be affected. Eg. If I have submitted 5 jobs but have only followed up on 3 of those, my reliability rating is 3/5 shown as a percentage. Simillairly, if a tradesperson selects that he is intending to quote but never follows through on quoting, his Reliability Rating will be affected. This protects both parties as the system relies heavily on ratings and feedback.
- What is a Quality Rating?
In order to close out and complete the job, feedback needs to be given on the Tradesperson and the quality of service and workmanship received. A written comment can be given too. Once you have submitted a rating for the tradesperson which is a simple selection of ? :-/ or ?, the tradesperson has a chance to leave a quality rating on you the user. The system relies heavily on feedback. QR is simply a tally of the amount of positive scores as a percentage of the total no. Of jobs completed.
Selecting a Tradesperson
- How do I select a tradesperson?
Once your quote date has closed, you can review the quotes you’ve received. We recommend you don’t select your quote on price alone as logajob offers other strengths which will assist in your selection. Firstly, attached to each tradesperson is a profile so you can get to ‘know’ your tradesperson better. In addition if they have already been awarded jobs through logajob there should have been feedback placed on them as well as reviews. So that you’re confident that this person will be a reliable trader, each tradesperson has a reliability rating attached to them and with all this information you can make a more calculated decision.
- How can I be sure the tradesperson is qualified?
- Do I have to select the tradesperson through the site?
If the tradesperson has been introduced to you through the site, we strongly advise that you continue through the process of the site. Of course we cannot stop tradespeople taking a chance and offering a small discount but remember, you will then lose your ability to post feedback on this tradesperson if the job does not go according to plan. The idea is, through feedback, Logajob will only host reliable trade personnel and if we don’t have your feedback we are unable to filter out those tradespeople who do not reach the standard of workmanship required. The ability to provide and utilise feedback is what differentiates us from just a regular directory service. Remember by following through the entire quotation process we are providing you with a competitive platform and therefore you are ensured more competitive pricing.
- Do I sign any sort of contract with the tradesperson?
Yes, for your own protection, we advise that once the tradesperson has been selected via the site, the tradesperson still gives you their normal terms and conditions for signature. This will protect you both should something go wrong with the project.
- What is feedback?
This is the essence of how ‘logajob’ operates – with feedback everyone is held accountable for both good and bad work. We believe feedback needs to be given and received so unlike other similar sites, the Job poster (that’s you) also gets a reliability rating and feedback comments which the tradesperson will be able to view on you. This also encourages prompt payment, courteous relationships and a general respect to and from both parties.
- I believe incorrect feedback has been posted on me, what can I do about it?
While we believe that the site must reflect honest feedback as this will allow users to get a more accurate ‘feel’, if you genuinely believe the comments are unfair, you can contact us and we will endeavour to investigate and mediate. We are well aware of the complexities these renovation type projects breed. All users have an obligation and responsibility to post honest feedback. As our terms and conditions clearly state, we reserve the right to remove any user who is deemed to have abused and or violated the policy of posting honest feedback.
Fees and Payment
- Does it cost to post a job?
No, for job posters/homeowners this service is completely free.
We believe securing a tradesperson through Logajob will cost less than traditional methods for two reasons
- As tradespersons are being offered a competitive platform to quote on, they are aware that they have to put their best price and service forward at the outset or they could lose the opportunity to win the job.
- Traditional methods for tradespeople to advertise are very expensive, Logajob provides an effective and cost friendly way for them to find work, they can therefore offer a better price to you the job poster.
- Who do I pay for completion of the job?
The payment conditions are agreed upon between you and the tradesperson. However, we do offer the following advice
Always retain a proportion of the total payment until the job is fully completed. Be fair on completion and pay promptly when the work is finished to your satisfaction. Remember, the tradesperson has a chance to offer feedback on you the job poster so if payment has not been prompt he's sure to mention this and this will make other tradesmen hesitant to quote on the next project you may want done through Logajob.
If there are any other questions that you have – please don't hesitate to contact us and we will endeavour to assist where possible.
- Why use Logajob rather than the traditional methods I’ve used to win business in the past
Our belief is that the traditional methods tradespeople have used in order to advertise their services eg. Advertising, listings in Directories such as the Yellow Pages etc. Are all expensive methods and there is no way of telling how your marketing dollar has been converted into business. For a quarterly fee, post your free 3 month trial period, we literally offer you a unique more efficient advertising platform, an ongoing up to date feedback platform whereby your good work is rewarded. Text alerts telling you exactly when jobs in your area are waiting for quotes, a reliable, user friendly userpage to be able to view your quotes and your job status from wherever you are in the world. Furthermore, you don’t go looking for customers, customers come looking for you, no missing out on calls and prospective business. Quoting on jobs can be as simple or as detailed as you make it.
- What do I do to register?
ust follow the register as tradesperson prompt – this will take you to your profile option where you will be able to upload information about yourself and the service you provide, any pictures you would like to display on previous jobs done, qualifications scanned and uploaded. Payment can be made online by any of the three methods we have available.
Membership & Fees
- When and why do you charge a success fee?
A success fee will only be charged once you have ‘won’ work through the website, we feel this is a fair way as the lead has been generated by the site. In addition, you are only being charged for your successes, unlike traditional advertising methods where you have no idea which leads were generated from your advertising. In addition, when the homeowner or jobposter logs a job, their reliability rating is affected if they are not serious about getting quotes. We are hopeful this will lead to more definite results coming from the time consuming process of having to quote. The success fee charged is 4% + GST of the total value of the job, there is a minimum of $5.00 + GST for a success fee. This fee is capped in order to ensure that larger jobs which require more time and effort from you the tradesperson, will benefit from the bulk of the markup. The fee is capped at NZ $300.00 + GST. When you are submitting the quote, the site will work out automatically for you what the Logajob fee will be.
- When and how do I pay the success fee?
When your quote has been accepted, the site will immediately generate a success fee invoice to you. You then have 14 days to pay by any of the THREE methods we have for payment
- Direct online banking
- Cheque made out to Logajob
IMPORTANT – in the terms and conditions you signed, we will alert you once again to the fact that if you have an outstanding account, we will give you 7 days to correct this however, if within those 7 days your account is still outstanding, it will be frozen until accounts are paid and updated.
- Do the general public have access to my contact details?
No, your profile will be accessible to them under your username however actual contact details will only be exchanged once the quote has been accepted. If the job is one that requires a site visit, you will receive contact details for the homeowner and you can contact them rather than relying on them to contact you.
- What do I get for my MEMBERSHIP?
You get a unique way to advertise yourself by way of profile information on the website, your own stand alone webpage as it were. You get a text alert sent out to you daily if any new jobs are listed on the site awaiting quotes in your field – this will eliminate unnecessary logins which will save you time as you only need to get to your computer when there’s a job waiting for you to view, specific to your category/ies. The fee you pay is minimal compared to any other traditional advertising methods and your clients come looking for you. In addition you get a quarterly newsletter which highlights great specials offered by the hardware stores and other newsworthy articles. If your reviews and ratings stand out, there is an option whereby people can contact you directly and ask you to quote directly without competing against fellow tradesmen.
Feedback and Ratings
- What is the cost of Membership?
There is currently no charge however logajob reserves the right to make discretionary changes in the future.
- A job was cancelled after I paid my success fee, can I get a refund?
Sure, a refund will be given to you once logajob is satisfied that the job was cancelled. Your refund will be in the form of credit notes.
- How does the feedback system work?
We feel that this is a way of growing your business as feedback will play such an important part. Before homeowners decide who to use, they will refer to feedback posted on you. In this way they are able to receive a huge amount of information on the quality and standard of work done by yourself..
Genuine feedback has two important elements: the past and the future. Before customers decide who to hire, they look at your past feedback. After they hire you and the work is finished, they will add to that feedback, in either a positive or negative way. This future feedback rewards excellent service and punishes bad work.
You have a strong incentive to do your best in order to get feedback, which in turn increases your chances of getting more work (and being able to charge more for it), and more good feedback. You can get this virtuous circle started remarkably quickly through Logajob Growing your business just got a lot easier!
We verify everyone who posts a feedback comment to ensure that the feedback is genuine.
- A user has posted abusive or negative feedback on me, how can I explain my side?
Logajob will endeavour to mediate in these instances however, you also have an opportunity to post a comment directly under this negative feedback explaining your side of the story. Logajob will follow up and in the event there is no proof to back the negative comment, we will remove it from the site.
- What is the reliability rating?
A reliability rating is measured in order to encourage users to follow through with their intentions. For example if a tradesman submits an intention to quote but doesn’t follow up with that quote, they will be penalised and users will note that this tradesman has a history of unreliability. Faced with a choice of two quotes at the same price but differing Reliability ratings, the user will naturally pick the tradesman who has a higher reliabilty rating. Thus the rating encourages tradesman to deliver quotes and results on time.
- The Job Poster has selected they don’t want a site visit however I feel I can’t quote without one
Some users are adamant that they want the ease of the site and with that comes the hassel of having to meet tradespeople first. We allow a general questions platform which all intended quoters are able to see. Through this platform you can express that you don’t think it’s possible to quote without seeing the site and the other bidders may agree with you thus putting pressure on the job poster to open access to site visits. However if they are not open to this and would rather have less quotes, logajob personnel can do nothing about this as it’s the right of the job poster. Rather wait until the next job comes along that’s more suitable for you to quote on than get yourself in a predicament submitting an unrealistic quote.
- How do I terminate my membership?
Please send an email to us on firstname.lastname@example.org entitled TERMINATION and we will complete your request. Or call us on 06 7536385.
- Do I pay for the Text Alert option?
You will not be charged for texts during the intial 'trial' period but Logajob reserves the right to change this. Subsequently you reserve the right to withdraw from this option if the new cost structure does not suit you.
